• It takes one-minute longer to boil an egg in Johannesburg than it does in the coastal cities of Cape Town and Durban. This is because Joburg is 2000m above sea level, and the air is not as dense

• Approximately 57% of individuals in South Africa were living below the poverty income line, unchanged from 1996.

• Unemployment rate is estimated around 40 percent in SA

Just a little update!

My plane ticket to South Africa is $1,981.

I have raised $1,406 so far!!!!

My final payment for the air plane is due May 3. 

I have some work to do!

(I still have other costs to raise money for besides my ticket) 

Each year, more than 8 million people around the world die because they are too poor to stay alive.

For this painting, I took a canvas and glued crayons on the bottom. I then melted the crayons and painted the lady with the umbrella. Please keep in mind if you decide to give a donation for this item, the money I spent on the crayons and the thick canvas. Thanks!
